VIDERUNT OMNES!
Focused on the monumental Viderunt omnes de Pérotin, this program, created following the dramatic fire of Notre-Dame de Paris in 2019, presents compositions ranging from the Middle Ages to the early Renaissance, all of which have a link with Paris and its cathedral Notre-Dame. We will cross the 13th century Paris admired for its rich intellectual and artistic life with polyphonic masterpieces from « The School of Our Lady ». Then we will approach the end of the 14th century with « Subtilior », this musical style refined to complexity such that only the best singers of the time could read the rhythms. The concert will end with two jewels by Antoine Brumel, master of the Franco-Flamand polyphony of the all-new Renaissance.
